Daniel KimDr. Daniel Kim joined Radiation Oncology Associates in 2021. Dr. Kim is trained in all aspects of radiation oncology with experience in advanced radiation therapy modalities including proton radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy, volumetric modulated arc therapy, MRI-linear accelerator based radiotherapy, brachytherapy, intraoperative radiotherapy, and radioisotope therapy.

Dr. Kim grew up in Missouri and graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College with degrees in neuroscience and music. He graduated cum laude with his M.D. and M.B.A. from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School, respectively. He was awarded the Michael E. Porter Leadership Award upon graduation and served as Senior Advisor to then-Mayor Marty Walsh, focusing on economic and healthcare policy. Dr. Kim completed residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program in Boston, MA which included training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Boston Children’s Hospital. He served as Chief Resident, helping guide educational directives for the residency program.

Dr. Kim’s academic interests have been in translational science through developing novel biomarkers by analysis of annotated datasets and preclinical studies that inform clinical trial design. He has developed and helped activate phase I and II clinical trials. Dr. Kim has received grant funding through the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). He also has research interests in clinical outcomes from proton radiotherapy. He has authored over thirty peer-reviewed publications that have been published in journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and Clinical Cancer Research. He has presented his research at national and international meetings, including AACR, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). Dr. Kim has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals including Cancer, Journal of Urology, and Journal of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Kim is board-eligible. He will be seeing patients at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kim enjoys playing sports and spending time with his wife and son.
