From Southern Maryland:
- Follow I-95 South over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia.
- Take Exit 176 – Telegraph Road North.
- Stay left and take Rt. 236 West – Duke Street exit.
- Proceed on Duke St. to Quaker Lane and turn right.
- Turn left on Seminary Road.
- Follow Seminary Road to Howard Street.
- Turn left on Howard Street and enter visitor parking on the left.
From Springfield and points South:

The Radiation Oncology Department at Inova Joseph Viar Jr. and Bonnie Christ Cancer Center – Alexandria offers a comprehensive cancer treatment program which is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, with commendation, and by ASTRO’s Accreditation Program for Excellence (APEx). At Alexandria our goal is to provide patients with highest quality, patient-centered care throughout the treatment journey. No matter where the patient is in the treatment process, he or she will also find a helping hand to help them take the next step towards recovery.

Patients at Inova Alexandria Hospital have access to the full spectrum of cancer care, including surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy, as well as dietary, emotional and support services essential for effective cancer care.

The Inova Joseph Viar and Bonnie Christ Cancer Center, part of the Inova Schar Cancer Institute, is equipped with state of the art, technologically advanced radiation therapy equipment available today.

Expert Staff
- Medical Director: Dr. Jason Sun attended Harvard Medical School, completing the MIT-Harvard Health Science and Technology M.D. Program. His clinical interests include genitourinary, gynecologic, head and neck, breast, thoracic and gastrointestinal malignancies.
- Physicians: Dr. Lonika Majithia received her MD from the University of New Mexico. After graduation, she completed her medicine internship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and her radiation oncology residency at The Ohio State University. Drs. Jason Sun, Lonika Majithia, Gopal Bajaj, Samir Kanani, Stella Hetelekidis, Susan Boylan, Ashish Chawla, Joseph Lee, Kevin Choe and Michael Eblan are part of the largest and most experienced Radiation Oncology team in the metropolitan D.C. area.
- Full time Medical Physicists, Certified Medical Dosimetrist and Registered Nurses: Oncology Certified Registered Nurses.
- Radiation Therapists: Certified Radiation Therapists to perform the daily radiation treatments and simulations.
- Support staff: Nurse Navigator, MSW Social worker and Registered Dietitian on-site.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The center has a 24 – hour emergency service after 5pm Monday through Friday and throughout the weekend. Call 703-776-3158 and ask for the radiation oncologist on call.
