Dr. Andrew Song joined Radiation Oncology Associates in August 2020. His clinical interests include central nervous system, thoracic, breast, head and neck, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, hematologic, and gynecologic malignancies. Dr. Song is experienced with multiple radiotherapy techniques and modalities, including stereotactic radiation, HDR brachytherapy, and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) as well as volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) to provide tailored treatment for his patients.

Dr. Song is originally from Fairfax County and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and received his MD from Case Western Reserve University. He then completed his residency in radiation oncology at Thomas Jefferson University.

His current research interests include innovative technology to improve patient experiences and health economics. Dr. Song has presented his work at multiple international meetings, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and published in numerous reputable journals, including JAMA Oncology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Radiotherapy and Oncology, and Journal of Neuro-Oncology.

Dr. Song is board eligible. He is excited to join the cancer team and deliver state-of-the art radiation therapy through multidisciplinary care to patients in his hometown. He will be seeing patients at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute Radiation Oncology Department in Fairfax, and at the Potomac Radiation Oncology Center (PROC) in Woodbridge. In his spare time, Dr. Song enjoys hiking, reading, and tackling new recipes in the kitchen.
